How To Block an IP Address from My Website

This article explains how to block a specific IP address from accessing your website using either cPanel or Plesk. It helps restrict unwanted traffic by preventing defined IP addresses or ranges from reaching your site.

Block an IP address in cPanel

Complete the following steps to block an IP address using the IP Blocker feature in cPanel:

  1. Log in to your cPanel.
  2. Go to the Security section.
  3. Click on IP Blocker.
  4. In the text field, enter the IP address or range you want to block.
  5. Click Add to apply the block.

After adding the IP address, it will be denied access to all websites hosted under your cPanel account.

Block an IP address in Plesk

Complete the following steps to block an IP address using Plesk:

  1. Log in to your Plesk.
  2. Go to Websites & Domains.
  3. Click the domain that you want to manage to see more options.
  4. Click on the Hosting & DNS tab.
  5. Click on IIS Settings
  6. Locate the Deny access to site, then select Enter custom value
  7. Enter the IP address or IP range you want to block in the box.
  8. Scroll down and click OK to save the changes.

Once added, the specified IP address will be prevented from accessing websites hosted in your Plesk environment.
