Getting Started With Linux Hosting
This article provides an overview of how to begin using Linux hosting. It outlines the key areas you need to set up and manage, with links to separate articles that contain detailed steps.
1. Access your hosting control panel
You can manage your Linux hosting account using a control panel. The available option depends on your hosting plan.
The following access methods are available.
- Current hosting plans can use the Linux Control Panel in the Crazy Domains account to manage hosting. cPanel may also be available if needed.
- Classic hosting plans can only use cPanel to manage hosting.
2. Create a website
There are different ways to create a website depending on your needs and technical experience. In this article, we recommend installing WordPress as it is the most commonly used option for Linux hosting.
WordPress allows you to build and manage a website using a user-friendly interface without requiring advanced coding skills. For step-by-step instructions, refer to Install WordPress on Linux-Based Hosting.
3. Connect a domain to your Linux hosting
Your domain must point to your hosting server before your website becomes accessible.
This is done by updating your domain’s name servers to our hosting name servers.
See Web Hosting Name Server for more details.
4. Create cPanel email accounts
You can create email accounts using your domain name through your hosting account. This allows you to send and receive emails using a professional email address based on your domain.
