- cPanel
Issue
When you access your website on a browser, you will see the error NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID.
Cause
This error occurs because the SSL certificate installed on the website has either expired, is not yet valid, or the system clock on the client or server is incorrect. Browsers rely on the certificate date validity to establish secure connections. An expired or invalid date on the SSL certificate triggers this error.
Solution
Option A: Renew or install a valid SSL certificate manually
-
If the website doesn't have an SSL Certificate yet, advise the customer to purchase or make use of the free cPanel AutoSSL. See Option B.
-
If the problem is an expired SSL, advise the customer to renew the SSL Certificate.
Option B: Enable or run the cPanel AutoSSL to automatically issue a free SSL certificate
NOTE. This is only applicable to cPanel-based hosting.
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Go to the SSL/TLS Status area.
- Select the domain(s) having the certificate issue.
- Click Run AutoSSL to automatically request and install a free SSL certificate for the domain.
- Wait for AutoSSL to complete the operation successfully.
