Change the Primary Domain of My Linux Hosting Plan
NOTE. For now, this option is only available for Linux Hosting plans.
This article explains how to change the primary domain associated with your Linux hosting account. It helps you update the main domain used for your website and hosting configuration.
Important considerations when changing your primary domain
Consider the following impacts when changing your primary domain:
- Website files may need to be updated to reflect the new domain.
- Existing email accounts tied to the old domain may be affected.
- SSL certificates may need to be reissued for the new domain.
- Hardcoded links within your website may require updates.
Change the primary domain in cPanel
Complete the following steps to update the primary domain of your hosting account:
- Log in to your Crazy Domains Account.
- Find your Linux Hosting product and click Manage. This opens your Linux Product Manager.
- In the Overview tab of your hosting plan, go to Primary Domain row.
- Click on CHANGE.
- Select a domain name from the list or add a new domain manually.
- Read the Warning message carefully.
- When you're ready, click on ACCEPT CHANGE.
