Register a Domain

This guide walks you through everything you need to know to register a new domain with Crazy Domains — from searching for availability to completing your purchase — quickly and confidently.

Before you start

Before you register a domain, keep the following in mind:

  • Email verification is required
You must complete your Crazy Domains account details to register or transfer any domain. As required by ICANN, unverified email addresses may result in your domain being placed on hold.

  • Default name servers
Know that domains registered with Crazy Domains automatically use our standard name servers. Learn more about standard DNS.

How to register a domain

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Buy Products from the left panel.
  3. Select Domains, then click Search and register a domain.
  4. Enter your desired domain name in the search field.
  5. Review the results:
    • If you don't see any warning or remarks, it means the domain is available.
    • If the domain is already registered, you may see the following:
      • Backorder: This means the domain is already registered. You can place a backorder request, but success depends on whether the owner renews or lets it expire.
      • Resale: The domain is owned by someone else but is listed for sale.

  6. If the domain you want to register is available, click GO TO CART.
  7. On the My Cart page, select your registration period and review your purchase details.
  8. Click PAY SECURELY to proceed with payment.
  9. Review any other products you'd like to add to your order and click CONTINUE.
  10. Choose a payment method and click COMPLETE ORDER.
  11. Check your confirmation email. Once your domain registration is successfully fulfilled, you can access your domain in your Account Manager anytime to manage it.

A Pending Approval status means your registration has been submitted to the Registry but is not fully activated yet.

This can happen for a few common reasons:

  • Your account or payment details still need to be verified, or the sign-up process was not completed
  • You’re using a domain from another provider, and the DNS changes have not yet taken effect
  • There is a delay due to a high number of registrations being processed

The approval process can take up to 48 hours. Once your domain is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Until then, your domain will remain in Pending Approval status.

If the domain name you want is already taken, don't worry — you still have a few options:

  • Try a different variation (e.g., add a keyword, location, abbreviation, or hyphens)
  • Try a different domain extension suited for your brand (like .co, .net, .biz, or .cafe)
  • Place a backorder if the domain may become available in the future

No, a domain name cannot be changed once it has been registered.

Registered a domain with a typo? Here are your options:

  • Cancel the incorrect domain — You may cancel the misspelled domain. However, registration fees are non-refundable, as registries do not provide credits for such changes.
  • Register the correct domain —  If the correct domain name is still available, you can register it as a new transaction. Note that this will be treated as a brand new registration and will not replace your previous one.
  • Keep both and set up a redirect —  You can keep the incorrect domain and redirect it to your correct address. This can be useful — it helps people find your site even if they mistype your domain name.

Here's what's included when you register a domain with Crazy Domains:

Yes, you can register a brand name as your domain, as long as it is available.

However, it is your responsibility to ensure the name does not infringe on someone else’s trademark or legal rights. Registering a protected name may result in:

  • Your domain registration being cancelled by the Registry or rightful owner
  • Potential legal or financial consequences
