Change the Ownership of Your CD Domain - AU
IMPORTANT. This is only applicable for .au domain names
For other TLDs, read this guide: Change the Ownership of Your CD Domain.
According to auDA regulations, updating details such as your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Business Name, or Business Number is considered a change of ownership and requires authorization.
Follow the steps below to update your .au domain’s registrant information:
- Go to your Domain Manager.
- Click on the Administration tab.
- Click on the Registrant Contact row and click Change Owner.
- Update the necessary registrant details (Business Name or Business Number, First and Last Name, Email Address).
IMPORTANT. If you are changing the ABN, ACN or Other business number, make sure the new business number is valid and eligible for .au domain licensing.
- Click on Save Changes. This opens the Authorization screen.
- Click on Send Authorization Request.
- No changes to the registrant email. The verification email will be sent to the existing registrant email.
- The registrant email has been changed. The verification email will be sent to both emails (previous and new registrant emails).
- Access the registrant email to approve the changes (both previous and new if the registrant email address is changed).
IMPORTANT. The COO fee applies for ABN, ACN or Other business number changes, which will be paid by the previous registrant (losing registrant) during the approval process.
No access to the existing registrant email
If you can't approve or confirm the changes because you don't have access to the existing registrant email address, you can request our Customer Support team to update it for you through our Domain Access Recovery process.
