What Name Server Should I Use
This article helps you determine which name servers your domain should use so you edit the correct DNS zone — whether it’s Standard or Premium DNS, or Web Hosting DNS. This prevents confusion and ensures your DNS update will work.
Why This Matters
Customers with both a domain registration and a web hosting plan will have multiple DNS zones:
- Account Manager DNS (Standard or Premium)
- Web Hosting DNS (cPanel or Plesk)
If you edit a DNS zone that your domain isn’t using, the changes won’t apply to your website or email. This is a common source of confusion and extra support requests
Choosing the Correct Name Servers
To make changes in the correct DNS zone, your domain must be using the corresponding name servers:
