Connect a Domain to Your Website in cPanel

This article explains how to connect your domain to your website in cPanel by updating the required DNS records. 

Below are the DNS records you need to add in your domain’s DNS settings so your domain points to your website. Once updated, visitors who enter your domain in a browser will be able to view your site.

DNS zone specific instructions  

The steps to add or edit the A records for your cPanel website depend on the DNS zone you are using. Please follow the instructions for your DNS zone:  

 

General instructions  

If your DNS is hosted with another provider, follow these general setup instructions:  

  1. Go to the DNS settings of your domain.  

  2. Find the existing A record for your domain (both with and without www). 

  3. Update or add the required A records.  

  4. Wait for the changes to take effect. DNS update may take up to 72 hours to work.
